Annual Meeting - 2004 - Washington D.C.

MLA ’04 OPEN FORUM ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ISSUES IN HOSPITAL LIBRARIES

May 24, 2004, 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., in the Military Room at Hilton Washington.

Hospital librarians continue to encounter information technology (IT) barriers that are frustrating and often unique to the hospital environment. The Hospital Internet Access Task Force of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine was formed in May 2003 to identify common IT barriers in hospital libraries and to recommend practical solutions to address these barriers. This open forum provides an opportunity for the task force to share their progress to date and to seek input from hospital librarians about additional solutions and strategies, as well as suggestions for how to disseminate this information.
